Walls primed in an oul undercoat then 3-1 acrylic undercoat then 2 finish coats, with lots of filling in between

PREPARING all the walls and woodwork proper is critical for the best outcome possible. After filling walls and woodwork we mark the spots with tape so we dont miss any with the undercoat.

New look for an old classic. It’s all in the detail.

you may not notice from this photo but a lot of the feature brick work is in a slightly darker grey. Not a massive contrast but just enough to break up the wall areas around the house. There were a lot of different textures to contend with on this home. And with a few colours predetermined by the new renovation at the rear. We had a task to bring them all together to create new look.

New products New job

On this new job a single fronted terrace in fitzroy I was lucky enough to try a new product on this hoop pine veneer paneling.

The application was 2 coats of Whittles wax Evolution satin. The Evolution was very easy to use. We had to put in an additive to make sure that the oil / wax dried out as it has been too cold for it to cure.

Are windows as protected as they should be.

Heading into winter the exterior of our home can get some of the harshest treatment. Damp wet winters are harsh on raw timber that’s left untreated. 

Making sure your windows are cleaned regularly and the exterior coatings are up to scratch. Replacement of windows is an expensive cost and one that can be avoided with a little care and maintenance.  

These windows and door are brand new and getting a good couple of coats of gloss marine grade varnish.

By providing some decent sized samples that can be left with our clients. They have the opportunity to see them in all different times of the day and different rooms.

Re-vamp on an old bedroom. Face lift with a slightly deeper blue lighter trim. 

There was a couple of large cracks to repair and the fire place painted out in white.

Repaint to this beauty

Great opportunity to work with some super clients on this classic red brick home in Gardenvale the last few weeks. Was around 10 yrs  since it had been done. 

Great results are always achieved with a lot of good preparation.

Sand, clean, undercoat, fill, sand, gap, undercoat. 2 finish coats

Change of colour makes a big difference

From Green to Grey.

With some sanding, filling, repairs, undercoating and 2 finish coat of Taubmans Endure exterior semi-gloss. Quiet a significant change could be made. 

The client also got the roof repainted and sprayed in the same dark colour

This was a big project for us at MWP

Was a great job to takle with lots of different elements to work on. 

Jon Webb and his apprentice Hash were wonderful to work with over the duration of the job. These guys are master craftsman. Highly recommend

All the windows, doors, architraves, skirting was oiled in Livos exterior wood oil. 

All the inside ceiling & walls were painted in Resene Zero Voc 

Exterior weatherboards, fascias and  eaves we used all Taubmans Endure exterior Low-sheen & semi-gloss  as well as the Livos exterior oil on all the windows, architraves & doors. 

The floors were also done in Livos interior flooring oil.

We try our best at Mat White Painting  to run our business in the most sustainable ways possible so making sure that we save all paint waste and make sure that it all goes to Paint Back where it’s then disposed of in the best and most environmentally ways possible.
